Pulled over a car because of an expired licence plate I randomly noticed. Got a bit bored at first just issuing parking tickets, until I’ve unlocked the pull-over sign. Even with that being said, the roadmap looks very promising.
(At least that I’ve encountered.) If you’re hoping for high octane police chases or shootouts, you might want to wait some time until those features are implemented. There are some bugs but none of them are majorly gamebreaking. Of course, as the store page says, the game is in early access. The map doesn’t feel small when you’re walking or driving around it. Right now you have access to 1 of 3 districts of “Brighton.” Within that district are some smaller areas which can be unlocked by tasks. As for the map, for first release it is decently sized.
If I listed all of them this review would be too long. When speaking to suspects there is so much you can ask / check for. The interaction system, unlike some other police simulators, actually feels complete and usable. The gameplay consists of (for the moment at least) more passive police work, such as parking enforcement duties and handling traffic related calls, with a few robbery / assault calls mixed in there.
The only crash I have experienced so far was during the “Major Accident” Callout, but there was a bug fix pushed not long after on release day that fixed it. For the most part the gameplay is smooth. It feels like the developers actually put time and effort into doing research on how law enforcement works and then implemented it into the game. There’s a handful of police simulators out there, but this one easily tops them all. The decision to start the player as essentially a meter maid results in a bit of a grind, but suffer through that and you will find a good game with a hopefully great future ahead.
